One Bad Summer

I walked pass your place
Just the other day
You were there, as usual
Staring at the world
So angrily
You never noticed me
But I noticed you alright
I tried to help
But you seemed so consumed
With yourself
I tried to talk to you
Get to know you
While no one ever took the time
I was there for you
You were just… there
What could I have been thinking
I guess I needed a challenge
Not realizing I could never change a man
Who can’t be tamed
I had no choice but to walk away
But then you had to go and change your mind
Just like that I was hooked
You got me fooled real good
That’s how one bad summer
Turned into five long years
Years of my youth wasted
But let’s face it
We were never meant to be
