Baby Girl

A celebration of life
A baby girl is born
A proud mother’s smile
Nine months burden gone

Daddy’s always busy
And Mommy too now
They’re always busy making money
Baby girl wishes she could talk out loud

But she’s only six months old
All cosy in the back of the car
Maybe her mother didn’t know
Maybe she wasn’t her shining star

Getting to the meeting on time
Didn’t want to lose her precious job
So she’d rather lose her only child
Never thought this situation was off

Baby girl died peacefully
Though alone she never felt the pain
Never said goodbye to mommy and daddy
Now they both took on the blame

Living their lives in shame
Sudden parenthood wasn’t theirs to earn
Now their prayers to God all in vain
A harsh lesson to be learnt
